Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Jackalope AI LLC ("Jackalope AI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at getjackalope.ai, our AI receptionist service "Dolly," and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Customers — home services contractors who subscribe to our Service
  • End Users (Callers) — individuals who interact with Dolly by calling a phone number provisioned through our Service on behalf of a Customer
  • Website Visitors — anyone who visits getjackalope.ai

Customers act as data controllers with respect to their End Users' information; Jackalope AI acts as a data processor on behalf of Customers for call-related data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 From Customers (Contractors)

When you sign up for the Service, we collect:

  • Business information: business name, business address, services offered, service area, hours of operation
  • Contact information: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address
  • Account credentials: login information, authentication data
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe; we receive billing details but do not store full payment card numbers
  • Configuration data: AI receptionist customizations, integration credentials, calendar links
  • Usage data: call volumes, billing periods, feature usage

2.2 From End Users (Callers)

When an End User calls a phone number provisioned through our Service:

  • Voice and call data: audio recordings of the call, transcripts, caller phone number, call duration, timestamps
  • Personal information shared during the call: name, address, email, phone number, service requests, scheduling preferences
  • Communication preferences: confirmation method preferences (email/text), follow-up consent
  • Metadata: call routing information, technical call quality metrics

2.3 From Website Visitors

When you visit getjackalope.ai, we may collect:

  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, click events
  • Cookies and similar technologies: for analytics and site functionality

2.4 From Third Parties

We may receive information from:

  • Payment processors (Stripe) — billing and transaction data
  • Calendar providers (Google Calendar, Outlook) — when you authorize calendar integration
  • Identity verification services — for business verification during signup
  • Analytics providers — aggregate usage data

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide the Service — process and respond to calls, schedule appointments, send confirmations
  • Customize the AI assistant — configure Dolly with your business details, services, and preferences
  • Process payments and manage billing — handle subscriptions, overage charges, and invoicing
  • Communicate with Customers — service announcements, support, billing notifications, important account updates
  • Improve the Service — analyze call patterns, train and improve AI models, develop new features (using aggregated and anonymized data where possible)
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud — detect abuse, unauthorized access, or violations of our Terms
  • Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, defend against claims
  • Marketing (Customers only) — send relevant product updates and offers; you may opt out at any time

We do not sell End User personal information.

4. Phone Call Recording and Voice Data

Important: Calls handled through our Service are recorded and transcribed.

4.1 What We Capture

  • Full audio recordings of inbound and (where applicable) outbound calls
  • Automated transcripts generated by speech-to-text systems
  • Caller phone numbers, call duration, and timestamps
  • AI-generated call summaries and metadata

4.2 How Voice Data Is Used

  • Real-time conversation handling by the AI assistant
  • Quality assurance and performance monitoring
  • AI model improvement (typically on anonymized or aggregated data)
  • Dispute resolution and customer support
  • Legal compliance

4.3 Consent for Recording

Recording laws vary by jurisdiction:

  • Indiana and other "one-party consent" states: Recording is legal when one party (Dolly, on behalf of the Customer) consents
  • "All-party consent" states (e.g., California, Florida, Pennsylvania): All parties must consent to recording

Customers are responsible for ensuring proper recording consent is obtained from End Users where required by applicable law. Our AI assistant is configured to disclose at the start of calls that the call may be recorded.
